| gregy....Warp4. They promise in the manual that it is possible to
| quickly switch from OS2 to WIN95 with the \"Dedicated WinDos session\" (or
| so). Did you ever try it? It reads nice. Because close down OS2 and new
| start Windows takes its time. This way one could use those many Windows
| programs e.g. Nero burning software. It is said dummy proof....I like
| that :-)) I looked for the Warp updates and found FP15. It needs the
| preparation of 18 diskettes and some tool. And I am not certain that the
| browser will become up to date. Nowadays you need Javascript and Flash to
| order tickets or look at the time-table of a theater or concerthall.
| Arachne alone can not do it. Even for ebay I need MSIE5 better 6. You
| probably know a way out?

| I've her (Arachne) stripped down so small that her installation fits
| on a 1.44 floppy! When she's zipped up into a self extracting file
| she's about 510K. Most of the font files are missing. No email and no
| djpeg at that size. When I ran her from the floppy I had to make a 
| c:\cache, c:\cache\headers and set arachnetemp to a small ramdrive\temp. 
| Not very fast soooo, I made a 1.5 meg ramdrive on this 486sx with 4 meg
| ram and I xcopied her to ramdrive with a small arachnetemp set to the 
| small leftover ramdrive\temp and cache=c:\cache (with cache\headers) and
| cacheindex=c:\cache.idx. She works well. Oh, I forgot to mention the
| best part- that 1.44 disk was a (ptsdos) bootdisk!

| What I'm actually trying to do is make her selfextracting small enough to
| put her on a 720k bootdisk with plenty of room left for other utilities.
| That would also be great for a 1.44 emergency disk. Could fit 720k more 
| utilities on it.

| extract to \mini\arachne. This is very similar to the one that can
| completely extract and run from a 1.44 PTSDOS (PhysTechSoft - small

| arachne.cfg settings are not altered to make it write to hard drive

| Gregy, I have been using a 'free' FTP client. BatchFTP. Not bad for 'free'

| I gives you an Explorer view of your FTP space and the DIR where your files 
| such are kept, Basic drag and drop stuff.

| crap that didn't need to be running. Then I had to download Ada-ware 6.0...M

| Anyway, cleared out over 1 Gig of Spyware components!, Then ran scan-disk,
| chkdsk, and De-fraged. SHe runs like a new born baby....

| And of course, I coudn't except any money because of the *family* thing.

| explorer......But, What the hell! as long as you have a back-up disk around.
