It also has a copy function, but like | | lptx.com a "comp" always gave a "different file sizes" error | | 'cause I think it leaves the control-Z off. | | | | ========================================================================== | | | | 935) Thu, Mar 16, 2006 - 11:18:37 pm | | | | gregy> | | lptx...got it....that looks similar to that "prn2file" thingee I use | | quite often...only prn2file is a little TSR that captures the CTRL-P | | function....well, no...actually it doesn't....it just redirects the | | printer output to a file....but...but...I always couple it to the | | CTRL-P function... | | .. | | | | ========================================================================== | | | | 936) Thu, Mar 16, 2006 - 11:19:16 pm | | | | Eric> | | G'nite guys! | | | | | | ========================================================================== | | | | 937) Thu, Mar 16, 2006 - 11:21:13 pm | | | | gregy> | | g'nite...Glenn.... | | ... | | Oh, and y'all remember that I'm archiving this board after midnight, | | my time... | | ... | | | | | | ========================================================================== | | | | 938) Thu, Mar 16, 2006 - 11:21:21 pm | | | | Eric> | | PS: Gregy.....remember to check those ACF's for personal info !!! | | | | ========================================================================== | | | | 939) Thu, Mar 16, 2006 - 11:21:39 pm | | | | gregy> | | g'nite Eric... | | | | | | | | ========================================================================== | | | | 940) Thu, Mar 16, 2006 - 11:22:11 pm | | | | gregy> | | Eric...thanks, again...I'd already forgotten.... | | | | | | ========================================================================== | | | | 941) Thu, Mar 16, 2006 - 11:47:23 pm | | | | Eric> | | Jumping Johasafax, Gregy....I forgot....cancel that call to Guido ! | | | | ========================================================================== | | | | 942) Thu, Mar 16, 2006 - 11:49:00 pm | | | | gregy> | | Eric....he he...Guido is a friend of mine....and he's a creampuff... | | ...wouldn't hurt a soul.... | | | | | | | | ========================================================================== | | | | 943) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 12:12:32 am | | | | Eric> | | Gregy, Guido is my neighbor.....only spelled GUIDOT. | | Also, Guido is also the mayor of Dearborn, MI....my | | friend knew him....I don't. | | | | ========================================================================== | | | ============================================================================ | | 3) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 4:06:35 pm | | Eric> | glennmcc, Did you see the blurb on Arachne.cz about Arachne | on Wikipedia....dated: 03/14/2006 | | | ============================================================================ | | 4) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 4:23:24 pm | | Eric> | BTW, I have had to reinstall Arachne seversl times in the last 4-5 | days because of automatic aborts or memory disappearing. I've | been running 1.89 all those times I think....I might have had some | 1.90 stuff some of the time fed to me by glennmcc. Somehow randomly | it seems, Arachne likes to eat memory. It's like She gets a | craving for a few bits every now and then! | | ALSO, I KNOW YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE ME....BUT....most of those times | after a reboot, my modem connection is still intact! I know from | previous posts that you guys are non-believers, and, I cannot explain | it, but when I ALT-D my connection is established WITHOUT dialing. | I have no idea how it survives a reboot but IT DOES !!! | | | ============================================================================ | | 5) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 4:26:21 pm | | Eric> | Oh Yes, A wee bit of Irish cheer to you all! | | ============================================================================ | | 6) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 4:46:52 pm | | ray> | Eric, | | Top of the mornin' to ye. | | Ah and is it a pint ye'll be going for with me latter? | | This thing about the modem, I once had a memory expansion card that | also survived a reboot, so I know that such things are possible. | I used the card as a ramdisk and it was fantastic, because whatever | was on it was still there after a crash/reboot. During programing or | testing of some tricky bit of software, it made restarts a snap, | since I eventualy put almost everything conected with startup onto | it, rather like a flash card today. I think it just had enough | onboard battery to keep itself hot during the reboot, what I never | did figure out is how it seamlessly re-integrated with the OS on | restart, but it did. Maybe your modem is pulling a similar trick. | | | | ============================================================================ | | 7) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 4:51:27 pm | | ray> | Oh, Eric, feel like steping into the lab with me again? I'm trying | again with Andrej's CD break code, I think I have a nice safe place | for it but need a second opinion. I sure like having it tho, it | beats the stupid way that Arachne sits there waiting to time out | when the con is dropped, and it's nice to know exactly what the | problem is. | | | | ============================================================================ | | 8) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 6:14:03 pm | | gregy> | Ray..I'll be back in a bit...with some thoughts on that "break" code.. | .. | | ============================================================================ | | 9) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 6:19:04 pm | | gregy> | BBIB | | | ============================================================================ | | 10) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 6:31:15 pm | | gregy> | Ray....CD-drop code..... | 1. We do NOT want to be checking that "in a continuous loop" of, even, | part of another loop (e.g. MAIN()..)... | 2. We DO want to be checking that "on event"....just don't pick an | event that happens too often (slows things down, doesn't it.....) | 3. AsFarAsICanRemember....the sequence for this is 1) tell serialport | to query modem for "status"...2)this returns, from the modem, a set of | bits/bytes that serialport puts into a SP-register | 4. We then 3) read that SP-register for the "modem-status-bits"...and | then 4) we interpret those bits, and branch to the "appropriate action" | . | You'll notice, and firmly keep in mind, that we do NOT have to do those | ...1-4) actions all at the same time, or "on the same event"...but..we | can do one on one event, the next on another event, next, etc.... | | Because, what might be "one, then next, then next, etc" will really be | happening blitzschnell, under the hood of our boxes.... | | The important thing....NEVER ever do anything about this, unless the | proggy (Arachne) goes into a "wait" mode, or we do some event (e.g. | click on an outside link) that will start the CD-check manually.. | .. | Otherwise...if we "put it in a loop"...it can/WILL slow things down.. | | | ============================================================================ | | 11) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 6:35:58 pm | | gregy> | Oh, and...whenever our "CD-drop" detects that the modem-connection has | gone OFFLINE....we NEVER do anything about it, EXCEPT..except to reset | the OFFLINE/0:00:00 flag to the OFFLINE state.....Arachne will do the | redial as soon as we click an outside link (if we have AUTODIAL Yes set) | or we glance at the status bar and press the ALT-D ourselves... | ... | Nothing...NOTHING needs to be done, except to reset that offline-flag | ...that's all... | | | ============================================================================ | | 12) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 6:44:35 pm | | gregy> | Two questions: | | 1. What program calls/launches IP-UP.BAT...to write the VARs into ENV | ....??? | 2. What program writes the values into IP-UP.BAT in the first place | ....???? | | | | ============================================================================ | | 13) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 6:58:57 pm | | ray> | Gregy, | | My thinking exactly, it was the checking while busy that was the | problem. I'm just checking now on *initiation* of some HTTP event | and on startup. It won't catch a line drop while actively doing | something, but the old timeout will of course still work. But, if | TCPIP is idle, and you go to do something it will instantly | notify you if CD has been dropped, seems OK. | | IP-UP is created by epppd.exe or lsppp.exe, but to call it, | you must do it my way (in a batch file) or the standard core's way | which is to add a call to it in the $roura$.bat that lauches the | dialer/connection program(s). | | | ============================================================================ | | 14) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 7:00:54 pm | | gregy> | YES...!!!!...I KNEW!!! I'd seen it somewhere....thanks, Ray... | | ============================================================================ | | 15) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 7:02:49 pm | | gregy> | Nope...I'm online, now, and "$roura$.bat" has no call for ip-up.bat in | there....maybe it's in there whenever I'm OFFLINE.....??? | ... | BRB | | | | ============================================================================ | | 16) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 7:07:03 pm | | gregy> | Nope...went offline and checked..."$roura$.bat" has no call to ip-up.bat | in it....but...something/somewhere MUST call/launche IP-UP.BAT, each | time I dialup...because the current-values ALWAYS get written into the | ENV.....so....still wanna know what proggy calls ip-up.bat.... | ... | | | ============================================================================ | | 17) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 7:10:06 pm | | gregy> | Oh, Glenn.....Re: Lynx....whenever I'm connected to a secure site...I'm | swatting away "SSL - can't find local certificate" (or sumpin) errors | ... | Now...I downloaded Doug's CERT.PEM file, unzipped and put it in the | main Lynx directory.....do you know how to make it read that file... | ...??? or have you the same experience as I do....??? | | | ============================================================================ | | 18) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 8:11:23 pm | | ray> | Gregy, | | I'm quite sure I'm right about that. | My 'connect.bat': | | @lh lsppp>PPP.LOG | @if exist ip-up.bat ip-up.bat | | if I comment out the ip-up line, when I connect, the env variables | are not set. From now on in my core, all failed opens will | be reported except those very few that are not errors at all. | | | | ============================================================================ | | 21) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 8:19:06 pm | | ray> | Glenn, | | I put that ftp site to work today storing my sources for Vladimir :-) | | | | ============================================================================ | | 22) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 8:22:28 pm | | ray> | Gregy, to see what's happening in roura you might try this | in arachne.bat: | | :execute | if exist roura.log echo. >> roura.log | if not exist roura.log echo. > roura.log | copy roura.log + %ARACHNETEMP%$roura$.bat > NUL | | it saves a running log of all roura's. | | if exist %ARACHNETEMP%$roura$.bat %ARACHNETEMP%$roura$.bat | goto roura | | | | ============================================================================ | | 23) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 8:23:28 pm | | ray> | Ooops, I put the comment in the middle not at the end. | | | ============================================================================ | | 24) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 8:29:22 pm | | gregy> | okay..Ray...I see/read the code...I'll believe you.... | ... | it's just....that somehow I want to "COPY DNS.TXT >> IP-UP.BAT"..right | after IP-UP.BAT is written with its usual 4 variables...just before | IP-UP.BAT is called to write those variables into the ENV.... | ...so.... | I was asking, to get things more straight in my head... | .. | | | | ============================================================================ | | 25) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 8:52:23 pm | | Eric> | Gregy, It looks to me like core makes IP-UP.bat | | ============================================================================ | | 26) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 9:05:10 pm | | glennmcc> | gregy, | | To get rid of that SSL cert not found.... | | Press 'O' for Options (hmmmm... wondered where Michael got that idea) | | | | Options Menu (Lynx Version 2.8.5rel.1) | | Accept Changes - Reset Changes - Left Arrow cancels changes - HELP! Eric, what you see there isn't core | creating ip-up.bat, but just adding the command to run it to the | buffer which ends up being the guts of roura.bat. | | | ============================================================================ | | 35) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 9:46:25 pm | | ray> | Vladimir likes my method because he can create a connection .bat that | scans several ISP's and might connect with any one of them as | circumstances change. It's quite true that my way is less friendly for | the beginner, but it offers far more power and flexibility. | | | ============================================================================ | | 36) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 9:49:59 pm | | Eric> | Gregy, It would appear the core will run ip-up.bat if something | else doesn't run it......so with EPPPD.EXE you might have to | alter the core to add to IP-UP.BAT before it is run.....but... | what stops you from adding to IP-UP.BAT after it is run and then | run it again? | | | ============================================================================ | | 37) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 9:50:49 pm | | ray> | Good night all, | | | ============================================================================ | | 38) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 9:58:25 pm | | Eric> | Gregy, Neither Miniterm nor EPPPD.EXE run IP-UP.BAT so they must | rely on the core.exe to run IP-UP.BAT | | ============================================================================ | | 39) Fri, Mar 17, 2006 - 10:03:50 pm | | Eric> | Re: #34 | Ray, Your right, I saw that on closer inspection as you see in my | later posts. Also, | the CD break code starts bitching when termin is not executed from the | command line and the CD code *doesn't* detect that anything is wrong | when ath has fouled the connection -- perhaps because the modem is | still hissing, ie still things it's working. So what exactly does | the ath command suceed in doing? It does *something* even if not what | it's supposed to do. Most currious. | | | | ============================================================================ | | 222) Tue, Mar 21, 2006 - 1:25:31 pm | | ray> | Glenn, | | I removed the 'deleting ...' message entirely from my popget and I | love it, now I get a nice, unbroken 'progress' display, much nicer. | As you either said or imtimated a while ago, there are too many | pointless status line messages. Another reason why I think you'd like my core, you don't have | to have all that stuff in the .cfg anyway. But, unless Glenn has | done something radical, arachne.cfg is always in memory. As to the connection stuff, | you are quite right, the standard method is better for beginners, | and should remain as it is, but mine is better for advanced users, | or for people who need to do something not quite 'normal'. | | | | | ============================================================================ | | 235) Thu, Mar 23, 2006 - 11:34:20 am | | ray> | Eric, | | It is in there. The version string has to be in core else how could | core print it? ... well it could be done via the environment, but | it isn't. Using a text editor you should be able to find the | version string, mine anyway. As I recall, Glenn's version string | is cobbled together from little bits, so it probably doesn't exist | as one continuous line. | | ============================================================================ | | 236) Thu, Mar 23, 2006 - 11:43:02 am | | Eric> | Ray, Gregy, The "standard" method isn't better if the beginners | give up before they can get connected. It's would be nice if a decent | poll could be taken of the ways that Arachne users are connecting | to the internet. From what I have been able to discern it seems a | large number have switched to a lsppp method. There must be some | reason the switch. If the standard method was so good then why | would they switch to a lsppp method. | | ============================================================================ | | 237) Thu, Mar 23, 2006 - 11:54:03 am | | Eric> | Ray, I didn't ask you. I was looking at glennmcc's core.> | But, since your here, Is the date, and name (just like named in your | directory) in your core. As I remember, without checking right now, it | seems to me that the name was slightly different than what you used as | the "version name". That was one thing that confused me because in | one it was "6B" and in the other it was "B6". | | | ============================================================================ | | 238) Thu, Mar 23, 2006 - 12:15:52 pm | | Eric> | Ray, I just looked for it in core from BUILD2Q.zip and I can't find | a version number or date. Maybe I missed it. | | ============================================================================ | | 239) Thu, Mar 23, 2006 - 12:23:57 pm | | ray> | Mornin' Eric, | | I think what we mean by 'standard method' isn't epppd vs. lsppp | but rather the way Glenn's core uses keywords to configure the | packet driver vs. my way of putting it all in a batchfile. Still, | I take your point, and once more people have tried my way, I am | optimistic that more people will like it. | | As to the other, sorry for butting in but the answer is the same | for both cores. As to names, I'm not sure I follow you exactly, | however you can find my version string verbatim in the core, right now | "Arachne 1.85:B6b:6g" and yes, it is a bit confusing: 'B6' | means 'base 6' "6b" means 'build 6b' clear as mud I know, but | my systems here depend on these letter/number sequences, all that | matters to the end user is the last two numbers, the 'build' number. | FWIW: | | Arachne 1.85:B6b:6g means: | | Arachne ... duh | 1.85 ... synchronized/updated to Glenn's 1.85 | B6b ... code base is 6b | 6g ... sequential build number is 6g. | | | | ============================================================================ | | 240) Thu, Mar 23, 2006 - 12:28:42 pm | | ray> | Oh, forgot: | Eric, you got Bastiaan up to speed with core swapping didn't you? | He has a bizzare bug with my core where if he uses ^R to import | something into a 'compose' page, the imported text ends up in the | subject line, of all things. Anyway, I asked him to crosscheck with | 1.89 and he says he can't so I'm wondering. | | | | ============================================================================ | | 241) Thu, Mar 23, 2006 - 3:53:19 pm | | Eric> | Ray, 1 st check your copy of Build2Q.zip core and see if you can | find the version number in it....I couldn't. 2nd you miss my point, | I think...If you send me a file named BUILD2Q.zip then I expect to | be able to look into the core.exe with my editor and find: | File name: Arachne core.exe from BUILD2Q.ZIP compiled on xx/xx/06 | | glennmcc has been sending files named like: 190-0318.zip so I would be | looking for: | File name: Arachne core.exe from 190_0318.ZIP compiled on 03/18/06 | | ============================================================================ | | 242) Thu, Mar 23, 2006 - 4:02:49 pm | | Eric> | Ray, | Re: Bastiaan Just because he has a running setup with your core | in it doesn't mean he is comfortable switching cores back and forth. | Nor does it mean he has a working setup of 1.89 that he can just | jump to in order to check for different behaviors. Bastiaan only | has a working setup because I guided him step by step and stopped | him from getting lost when he was going astray.. | | | ============================================================================ | | 243) Thu, Mar 23, 2006 - 4:04:53 pm | | glennmcc> | re:" Why is the name of the core and/or the date of the core | not compiled inside it?" | | Both of those _are_ compiled-in..... but not in a 'visible' manner. | | Since the project file I use is NOKEY.PRJ .... do a search though the | EXE and you will find ... I watched from entirely too | close one time as a piece of coat hanger wire was turned to molten drops | of steel when I was lying on my back stuck under a '57 Buick while I was | testing the starter. The starter was hanging from the wire which was | acting as the ground connection. The molten steel drops were running | down the wire like water and dripping right in front of my nose. I've | never seen anything like it before or since. It scared the bejeebers | out of me. A starter will draw 200 to 300 amps when it's working | normally....which...can go way up if the rotor is draging or locked. | A starter motor is designed to be run for only a few seconds at a | time. Most people abuse them terribly when the engine is hard to | start. | | ============================================================================ | | 364) Wed, Mar 29, 2006 - 4:56:59 pm | | ray> | Eric, | | Take up welding -- you soon get used to molten metal dribbling all | over you :-) | | Seriously, one of the best things about MIG welding is that if you | get splashed you are free to drop the thing and holler and scream | and cuss; with OxyAcetelene, you NEVER drop your torch no matter what | happens. | | | | ============================================================================ | | 365) Wed, Mar 29, 2006 - 5:03:58 pm | | glennmcc> | Hi ya Ray.... | | There's some stuff to bring a smile to your face over on the misc board. | Ray, I've done very little welding. What welding I've done has been | with only small torches on sheet metal where getting up enough heat | was always difficult. I've also done some welding with low fusing | aluminum rod and getting the parts hot enough was a problem there | also. But, I expect molten metal when I'm soldering or welding | and I'm prepared for it. I wasn't expecting molten metal dripping | on my face when I was stuck, realatively immobile, under a car | checking out the starter motor. But...believe me I've | been prepared ever since that incident. I also cast with a | centrifical casting machine which has at times sent molten metal | flying around the room. Fotunately, I've never been hurt by it. | I did at one time grab apiece of casting that had just come out of | a 2000 plus deg F. oven. That kind of scorch my finger tips a little. | | | | | ============================================================================ | | 367) Wed, Mar 29, 2006 - 9:51:25 pm | | ray> | Centrifugal casting eh? Those guys working up on power poles are often working on | live wires. I have watched my father check to see if a circuit was | live by putting his finger across the terminals of a socket. If your | not grounded you don't get a shock. That's why birds can land on | power lines. It's only when the birds wingspan is so long that it | touches both both wires that it gets fried. | | ============================================================================ | | 376) Thu, Mar 30, 2006 - 9:05:20 pm | | glennmcc> | Yep, that's exactly how I check to see if a circuit is 'live'. | | Stick a finger in the light socket. | | If it tingles... we got power. | | No tingle.... start tracking-down the problem. | | | ============================================================================ | | 377) Thu, Mar 30, 2006 - 9:07:46 pm | | glennmcc> | Ya know how to tell the diff between 120v and 240v ??? | | If it kicks ya across the room and bounces ya off the opposite wall.... 240v | | | | ============================================================================ | | 378) Thu, Mar 30, 2006 - 9:11:11 pm | | ray> | Eric's right, but I don't have the gonads. Tho I know an electrician | who routinely splices live lines. I guess if I did it routinely | I might learn it, but for now I always make sure the lines are dead. | | | ============================================================================ | | 379) Thu, Mar 30, 2006 - 10:26:34 pm | | Eric> | glennmcc, Electricity is nothing to play with. I've seen some things | and heard some stories and experienced 1st hand enough electrical | experiences that I show eletricity great respect. I am never | comfortable when working with live wires and I think that's good. | One should always assume the line is hot and treat it as if it is even | if you think it isn't. I have an uncle 2nd or 3rd removed who was | electrocuted working on an elevator. Elevators were at least 240 V. | and DC which is far more dangerous. I was surveying a kitchen at | an automotive plant as an aprentice to this older eletrical engineer | . We were confirming design drawings. It was one of those all stainless | steel kitchens and the appliances were 220 V. comercial stuff. I had my | head stuck into this stainless steel hole/cupboard when my "mentor" | shorted something out in the cupboard right in front of my face. | It scared the s**t out of me. After that I always maintained a safe | distance from him. | | | ============================================================================ | | 380) Fri, Mar 31, 2006 - 7:09:29 am | | ray> | 220 scares the wits out of me. I wire my welder up to the 220 dryer | circuit and I'm so afraid of being fried (given the excelent grounds | that tend to be around welders) that I shut the whole house off | when I fool around with that. | | | ============================================================================ | | 381) Fri, Mar 31, 2006 - 10:42:40 am | | glennmcc> | What a bunch of sissies you guys are. | | Come on .... grab them wires and have some fun !!!!! | | | | ============================================================================ | | 382) Fri, Mar 31, 2006 - 10:45:54 am | | Eric> | Ray, You can never be too careful. It also pays to make sure no one | else is around who might accidentally turn on a circuit that you are | working on. Also, be careful of pets....they often like to chew on | those nice rubber electic cords. Did you ever see that | Chevy Chase movie where he is putting Christmas lights on his house... | his wife or mother-in-law or someone else keeps switching his power | on and off and neither one knows what their doing. | | | ============================================================================ | | 383) Fri, Mar 31, 2006 - 11:03:37 am | | Eric> | Re: #381 | glennmcc, Having lost a friend that way, while both of us were | guiding a sailboat when it's mast touched an over head wire, I don't | see any humor in your suggestion. And I also from personal experience | can tell you that "grabbing ahold" of high voltage elecric wires is | not in the least bit fun. There is a big difference between a toy | shock box and any commercial or household electric power source. | | ============================================================================ | | 384) Fri, Mar 31, 2006 - 11:15:13 am | | Eric> | Most people have no concept of the power available from an UN-FUSED | 110 Volt household line. I wish everyone was required to watch a | demonstration of a dead short across an un-fused household circuit | as part of their education. I'm sure it would save a lot of lives. | It would probably stop some from ever pluging in another lamp. | | ============================================================================ | | 385) Fri, Mar 31, 2006 - 11:20:40 am | | glennmcc> | Oh yeah definately stay away from high voltage waires and circuits. | | I am refering only to low voltage stuff. | | Don't mess-around with anything over 120v | | And don't mess with 120v if condtions are 'damp'. | | But honestly... so-long-as your hands are dry and no other part of | your body comes in contact with any part of the circuit... including | 'earth ground'.... you are safe in touching 'live wires' of 120v or less. | | But do not allow let's say your knee to be 'grounded' and then touch | the 'hot wire' with some other part of your body. | | Bad.... very bad indeed. | | | ============================================================================ | | 386) Fri, Mar 31, 2006 - 2:00:20 pm | | Eric> | glennmcc, I'm saying this loud and clear....and you can quote me... | don't mess around with 120 V.....that is not low voltage....just | because most of the time one is lucky doesn't make it safe.... | 120 V. will kill...maybe you should see 120 V. UNFUSED and shorted | sometime under safe conditions to make you appreciate the power | and danger. UNFUSED 120 V. will melt a 14 GA copper wire instantaneously | just as if it were a fuse....I've seen it happen! | | ============================================================================ | | 387) Fri, Mar 31, 2006 - 2:15:56 pm | | glennmcc> | Yep.... sure will. | | I have been working with electricity sine age 9 | | After 35 years..... | | Yes... I _do_ respect it. | | However... I do not _fear_ it. | | After 35 years I _do_ know what can and can't be done safely. | | ============================================================================ | | 388) Fri, Mar 31, 2006 - 5:07:35 pm | | ray> | I figure the problem with working with live wires is that | one can end up grounded when one thinks one is not, and as Eric | says, if the line isn't fused, you can fry. Once I was working | on a friends wires (breaker off of course) but using a wooden | ladder. I had to go do something else, and when I came back my | friend has substituted an Aluminum one. I didn't pay it any heed | and went up and resumed work. It's a good thing the breaker was still | off, 'cause the floor was wet with a solution of TSP (conductive). | | | | ============================================================================ | | 389) Fri, Mar 31, 2006 - 5:41:23 pm | | glennmcc> | Yep.... what you just described is another of those very bad situations. | | One in-which it is quite wise to go check that breaker again just | in case the friend who switched ladders on ya also switch-on the | breaker. | | ============================================================================ | | 390) Fri, Mar 31, 2006 - 5:44:11 pm | | glennmcc> | Oh... a word of caution to anyone using WinCrap for email. | | MyDoom.O is going around again. | | Got one yesterday and another just now. | | ============================================================================ | | | Nick: | | Email: | | | URL: | | | | | | | | | | There have been 390 posts so-far this month. | Send / Refresh | This server displays time at (US MDT == GMT -0600) What's the correct time | now? | |----------------------------------------------------------------------------- |Take this link to the Archives |============================================================================= |Colby Schoolcraft ``....consider it GPLed, v2 of the license as of now :)'' |Thank you, True. :) And in the true-spirit of Free-SRC..... | -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
