Perhaps we can ask Udo how to set it up for DOS.    :)

What the OS/2 community does is set up an OS/2 version Apache Server
on the OS/2 box, then, with the samba-extensions (I think) the Whingee
thingee can access whatever Apache directories that are allowed...
...
And...I think...visa versa....they set up a Whingdoze version Apache
Server on the NT/2K/XP box (with samba-extensions) and the OS/2 boxes
can access whatever Apache directories are allowed on the Whingedoze
machine...
..

We should remember that Mik ran a DOS with LFN capability. Perhaps one
of us should exract that archive to DOS 8.3 files first.

Already tried extracting the 7z file after enabling lfndos

No good.

I'll need to extract the 7z file in Linux and then rename
the files as 8.3 and zip it up into a .zip

glennmcc,      Samba seems to have extracted OK here in a W$n DOS
window using 7za.

If you change the file names will that not interfere with program
operation.  Samba will be looking for the original file names ???

I don't know if it will mess it up or not.

I _do_ that if we _don't_ change the names to 8.3 ... then they can'rt
even be extracted from the .7z file when in DOS mode.

And if the names must be left as LFNs .... just what the hell is the point
of having a DOS program that requires extracting and running in 'dos box'
from inside winshit ???

Might as well go ahead and use the winshit program instead.

glennmcc,     But wasn't Mik using running these complies in DOS ??
As Ron said, Mik seemed to be using a DOS with LFNs enabled.
Don't I remember some mention of LFNs enabled in a Dr-DOS version ??

As  I mentioned above....

I _did_ enable LFNDOS.... still no good....
the LFNs would not extract. :(

LFNDOS can't seem to handle 'multiple dots' in filenames.
