This story is another one of my awesome and fearsome journeys to the heart of the Savage Id. It was written on a nutmeg binge.

There is nothing more vile or depraved than a gonzo in the throes of a nutmeg binge!

This collaboration was begun back when Timothy Leary was still dead and before he was outside, looking in. For years, I was sending him the kind of doped-out schizoid letters that inflicted Bozo with vodka and the whole Vadisadism of Alfalfa High on me.

Tim loved my letters, and started threatening to publish them. At this point, I was showing signs of bipolar symptoms. I continually died and rose from the dead. It all just went to convince me that God is a Dyer. I am immortal thru her colors; black, white, red, yellow, the colors of the chemical philosopher.

This story is my remake/remodel of one of Tim's chapters, about the death and funeral of the pope of popsicles. Mr. Fruity was his favorite soft drink.

Tim's version of this story was published in Chaos and Cyber Culture. Another of his letter-inspired stories wound up becoming the graphic novel Surfing the Conscious Nets.
